Date-expired gutkha destroyed

RAJBIRAJ, Sept 18: The District Market Monitoring Team, Saptari, has seized and destroyed different date-expired commodities including Gutkha and candies.



The team, in course of inspection at the Om Traders owned by one Om Shah at Rajbiraj-1, which is also known by the name Nagmani grocery shop, seized and destroyed some 500 packets of date expired Gutkha, a packet of chocolate and a packet of Puja brand spices, the team informed. [break]



Gutkha are the small bits of catechu either mixed with chewing tobacco or various flavours, and packed in small plastic sachets.



According to the Industry Officer and Member Secretary of the team Raghubar Shah, the team seized and destroyed the Gutkha and toffees after finding that they were date expired.



The team directed the shopkeeper to be present at the District Administration Office with the price list, the shop’s sign board, and certificates of renewal of the license and registration.



The joint team headed by Administration Officer at the District Administration Office, Om Prakash Mahato including Small and Cottage Industry, Saptari, the Saptari District Chamber of Commerce and Industries, the District Development Committee, the Rajbiraj Municipality and municipal police has started inspecting the markets regularly since a week.
