KATHMANDU, Dec 14: A team including the police force of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has seized betel quid, gutkha, cigarettes and other chewing tobacco products from different places of the metropolis.
Ram Prasad Paudel, head of the health branch of the metropolis, said that two sacks (50 kg) worth of tobacco had been seized till noon.

KMC seized tobacco products hanging outside the shops and hidden inside. KMC police informed through social media that they were found to be possessing tobacco products despite their notice.
"Tobacco products have only been confiscated for the first time, and if they are found again, we will close the shop," KMC police warned.
According to KMC, monitoring has started at various locations with a group of 50 city policemen. The metropolis has mobilized five teams including the central one. Different teams have been mobilized in the southern, northern, western and eastern areas of the metropolis.
