KATHMANDU, Sept 26: To mark the forthcoming Dashain festival, Ujjwal Tara School organized ‘Dashain Run for Good Health’ and Dashain greetings exchange program at the school premises in Baglung on September 21.
About 700 people from different walks of life participated in the events.

Raj Kumar Rai, won the first prize in the running competition under five kilometers men’s category, while Chandra Chapagain stood second and Pramod Thapa won the third prize. Likewise Chandra Bati Bista, Chanana Gurung, Srijana BK won first, second and third positions, respectively under the three kilometers female category. Similarly, Uma Khadka won the first prize among parents’ category, according to the press statement released by the school.
Moreover, Shiva Raut, Raju Karki, Hom pandey stood first, second and third, respectively under the five kilometers walkathon (male/ female). Bipin Bhurtel and Laxmi Shrestha stood first among parents under this category.
After the competition, the winners were conferred awards by Mayor Krishna Hari Thapa, Dr Bhagwan Koirala , Principal of Ullens School Medin Lamichhane, ward chairman of 9 Kundan Khadka, Golf professional Ghanashyam Thapa , Artist and social worker Sunil Katwal, Chairman of Sahakali Sahakari Radhe Shyam Khadka, Artist Puskar Regmi , School advisor Bhoj Bahadur Shah, Advisor Sushma Pokharel , School chairperson Gayatri Karki , Principal Samjhana Pokharel and Founder Advisor Bishnu Bahadur Karki .
Founder Advisor Karki promised to organize this kind of social awareness program every year on the day of Ghatasthapa while Mayor Thapa and Dr Koirala emphasized on the importance of exercise and awareness.
