DAO sealed off for a week as Taplejung CDO catches COVID-19

TAPLEJUNG, Oct 15: After the Chief District Officer (CDO) of Taplejung district, Jirendra Prasad Chapagain, tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the District Administration Office, Taplejung has been sealed off for a week.

TAPLEJUNG, Oct 15: After the Chief District Officer (CDO) of Taplejung district, Jirendra Prasad Chapagain, tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the District Administration Office, Taplejung has been sealed off for a week.


The DAO, suspending all its service for a week, has initiated the contact tracing of those who were in close contact with CDO Chapagain. So far, the health condition of Chapagain is reported to be stable.

Earlier, Chapagain was in close contact with Tourism Minister Yogesh Bhattarai during the inauguration ceremony of a Border Outpost established at OIangchungola.


Minister Bhattarai, too, was diagnosed with COVID-19 last Saturday.
