KATHMANDU, July 13: ODC Entertainment is set to organize the 3rd Dal-Bhat Gold Cup 2017 in Kathmandu on Saturday. The one-day futsal event will feature 32 teams from Kathmandu, Pokhara and Butwal.
The participating teams will be divided into eight groups where they will compete in league cum knock out format and table topper from each group will secure a place in the quarterfinals, according to ODC's President Simant Gurung.
He also informed that the interested teams can register their names until Friday evening paying registration fee of Rs 10,000. Gurung further informed that a match will be played for 15 minutes. “Since it is an open tournament, anyone can participate in the tournament including A Division players,” said Gurung.
The champion of the tournament will win a purse of Rs 200,000 while the runner-up will be rewarded with Rs 100,000. Similarly, the best player in each position including goalkeeping, defense, midfield and forward will be rewarded with Rs 15,000 each. All the matches will be played at Grassroots Recreational Center, Mandikatar.
