KATHMANDU, June 24: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday remained almost stable with a very nominal decline in its index by 0.22 points as the market closed at 2,600.53 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,600.76 points and soared to the day’s high at 2,629.27 points within the first half an hour. However, the market index suffered downhill for almost the entire remaining trading time before it closed for the day.

Five out of the 13 groups were the gainers, as the manufacturing and processing group added the largest of 29.57 points in its index. Of the losers, hotels and tourism index shed the highest of 66.99 points.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, inclined 0.10 points. The daily turnover amount further shrunk to Rs 5.76 billion from Rs 6.47 billion on Monday.
Among the individual companies, 107 were gainers while 142 were recorded as the losers. Butwal Power Company Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 276.59 million.
NIC Asia Debenture 2085/86 lost the highest of 5.17 percent of its market value. By adding 8.01 percent in its share price, Om Megashree Pharmaceuticals Limited stood as the largest gainer.
