Daily turnover declines to Rs 6.38 billion while NEPSE inclines 9.19 points

KATHMANDU, June 30: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday increased 9.19 points to close at 2,631.48 points.


The secondary market opened at 2,622.28 points and reached the day’s high at 2,638.73 points in the first hour and a quarter. The index dropped to as low as 2,622.88 points in the next hour and a quarter of trading time. The market recovered around nine points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

Four groups were recorded as losers, with the hydropower index declining by the largest of 10.13 points. ‘Others,’ hotel and tourism, and finance were in the row. Of the nine gainers, manufacturing and processing led the segment by adding 113.93 points in its index.  


The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies inclined 1.95 points. The daily turnover amount decreased to Rs 6.38 billion from Rs 7.12 billion on Sunday. 


Among the individual companies, 145 were gainers while 103 were recorded as the losers. Sahas Urja Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 365.39 million.


Rapti Hydro and General Construction Limited gained the highest of 9.97 percent of its market value. Panchakanya Mai Hydropower Ltd shed 4.92 percent of its market price and was registered as the highest loser.
