Organizing a press conference on Tuesday, the banda organizers announced that they would take out a torch rally at 6 pm Tuesday and hold protest rallies on Wednesday morning against the government intervention in the investigation into the 2004 murder of local journalist Dekendra Thapa.

The protest program also include hoisting of black flags in all houses in the district headquarters and protest meet at Tundikhel at 1 pm Wednesday.

The Maoist party is holding a mass meet at Kadachaur on the same day. A large number of security personnel have been deployed in the district headquarters in view of possible clash between the two sides.
