KATHMANDU, Feb 12: Vice Chairman of the main opposition party CPN-UML Ishwor Pokharel has alleged that CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal was inviting misfortune in the country by making irresponsible remarks about the MCC Compact Agreement.

Inaugurating the Dhumbarahi Park constructed in Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward No. 4 on Saturday, Vice Chairman Pokharel accused Chairperson Dahal of changing narratives of MCC with foreigners, his party cadres and common people.

Pokharel, who is also a former Deputy Prime Minister, said that Dahal was involved in causing serious damage to the country by talking about MCC in a way that would leave people confused.

Pokharel also warned the leaders of the ruling political parties that such activities against the interest of the country and the people would lead to further distortion in the society. He also urged the people to recognize and warn the leaders who maintain double standards in their remarks. 

Also, speaking on the occasion, Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Bidya Sundar Shakya urged locals to pay attention to the cleanliness of public areas including parks and gardens and make proper use of these areas.
