KATHMANDU, Sept 5: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Puspa Kamal Dahal has directed party cadres to expose the leaders of the ruling parties who are making statements that are against the constitution.

Speaking at a program organized at the party's headquarters in Paris Danda on Thursday, Dahal emphasized that no one has the right to undermine the hard-earned political achievements brought about by the sacrifices of martyrs while benefiting from those same achievements.

Chairman Dahal also took strong exception to the remarks of Prime Minister Oli that he had struck him with a round kick. “Someone in the position of prime minister reportedly said he had given a round kick to Prachanda [Dahal]. They will now see what the round kick of people looks like,” he said.

While arguing that such statements and tendency should be exposed well on time, Dahal expressed his displeasure over the failure of a section of UML leaders not to recognize the contribution of the Maoist movement in the country. “The constitution refers to the People's War as an armed struggle. It is clearly stated in the explanatory note of the constitution that the Maoist People's War is to be understood as an armed struggle and all parties have signed this,” he said. “However, some leaders of the ruling parties are daring to describe the People's War as violence, murder, and terrorism. We must expose those who speak against the constitution. The truth as stated in the constitution must be strongly conveyed to the people.”

Dahal has claimed that he has heard Prime Minister Oli refer to him in a derogatory manner, saying, “Prachanda got a round kick" for his alleged fraud, dishonesty and deception. They will see how the round kick of the people will be now,” targeting Oli and suggesting that the public's reaction will be telling.

It is reported that during a Politburo meeting held in Chyasal on Wednesday, PM Oli, targeting Dahal, had claimed to have "given a round kick", accusing him of making unbalanced statements.

Dahal also stated that the party has been continuously working on honoring the martyrs of the ‘People's War’.
