Dahal assures to cut short strike

KATHMANDU, April 7:  UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has assured the business community to cut short the three-day general strike enforced by the 30-party alliance.
 
A team led by Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), an umbrella organization of private sector, called on Coordinator of the alliance Dahal at latter’s residence in Tuesday and requested him to call off the strike.


A team compromising of representatives from FNCCI, Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Independent Power Producers' Association, Nepal (IPPAN) requested Dahal to postpone the strikes as it create long-term impact on the economy, acting President Pashupati Murarka said.

According to him, Dahal is positive on postponing the strike and the meeting of 30-party alliance scheduled this evening will discuss the matter.
