"I think Prachandaji (Dahal) had made an analysis of the situation before he put forward the idea of four months for the purpose. According to him, Dahal asked the prime minister for four months during a secret meeting between the two leaders in the evening of December 22, just a few hours after Dahal, addressing the party´s mass gathering in New Baneshwar, vowed to speak only to New Delhi to resolve the political deadlock in the country.
Nepal termed Dahal´s speech nothing but merely a political stunt. "He talked to me on the same evening just a few hours after he announced at the mass meeting that he would not hold any dialogue with government."
A recent cabinet meeting decided to extend UNMIN´s term by four months.
