If you’re a true carnivore and if you’re all set to taste the peppy flavors of pepper, hot sauce, cinnamon and green chili together, then it’s Chicken Chili – the widely loved snack in Kathmandu.

With dozens of restros offering you Chicken Chili on their menu, there are however, only a few places to taste this spicy delicacy.[break]

Let’s think about the finely marinated chicken breast, with or without the bone – as you may like – dipped into hot chili sauce and served before you with the thick spices and rich ingredients.

To trace some of the eateries in town to munch down the juiciest chicken breasts ever, Trio Lounge and Bar is definitely one of the finest you can find.

Located centrally at Jhamsikhel, Trio serves Chicken Chili like no other places in town.

The tenderest chicken breasts are marinated well before being cooked and you really feel like the meat cubes are dissolving into your mouth as soon as you take them in.

Oh! Please don’t compare this with any other ordinary Chicken Chili that you find in a dozen and more of “Fast Food Cafés.” If you do that, it’ll be no less that committing a sin.

Apart from it, it has to be Attic Lounge and Bar in Tej Bhawan, Lazimpat. Not just good food, Attic has a great homely environment too.

It’s a different fact that Attic comes to you a little more expensive than other eateries around. Nonetheless, if the real chili-hot chicken chili is what you’ve been craving for, Attic will take your greedy appetite to an ultimate level of satisfaction. It’s assured that you’ll ask for more.

Third in the list surely has to be The Vesper Café, in Jhamsikhel again.

Unlike in other eateries where Chicken Chili means literally what the dish is like, the versatility of The Vesper Café is it offers you Chicken Wings in chili.

Not to forget is Tipsy Lounge and Bar on Durbar Marg. It’s one of the few places where it’s not just about the chicken cubes that taste awesome, even the bell peppers and capsicum served along are truly indulging.

Like the proverb goes, Don’t judge a book by its cover, The Coffee Shop – NO, not the one at Hotel de l’Annapurna, but the one at New Road, opposite Photo Concern – serves you one of the best Chicken Chillis you can ever find.

Though the place may look congested and not that extravagant, when it comes to food, however, you’ll agree that The Coffee Shop is one of the best in town.

Formerly known as Diva’s Delight (Remember the popular C-Momo of New Road?), The Coffee Shop specializes in everything that comes chili. And it almost goes neck to neck with Attic when we’re talking about Chicken Chili.

And at last, how can you forget about a drink that goes well with Chicken Chili? If you’re non-alcoholic, you can go with any mocktails or crushers.

For those who like to shed the heat away with alcohol, vodka with cranberry juice, topped with ice and lemon slices, is always the best company.
