Pathak is accused of airing a program alleging that Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba’s son, Jaiveer Deuba, has investments in the five-star Hilton Hotel, as well as in Australia, Canada, and Dubai. Video clips, screenshots, and related documents were submitted to the court along with the chargesheet.

Although police obtained an arrest warrant earlier, the High Court had issued an interim order preventing his arrest. As a result, the chargesheet has been filed without recording Pathak’s statement.

He has been charged under the Electronic Transactions Act, 2063. Although the complaint was lodged by the Deuba family, their names have not been mentioned in the official chargesheet.
