Curfew clamped in Siraha village

SIRAHA, Aug 9: The local administration has enforced curfew in the Sashwor VDC of Siraha district beginning 2:40 pm on Friday. The curfew was clamped after tension flared up at various parts of the village over an incident in which an unruly group of youths had misbehaved with women at a temple in the village a few days ago.



The youths had misbehaved with women devotees at the local Mahadev temple last Monday. Earlier, with the situation seemingly going beyond control, security had been stepped up. A team led by DIG Upendra Kant Aryal from the eastern regional police office is on its way to the trouble area.

A team led by assistant chief district officer Durganath Gautam has also been formed to investigate the incident.  [break]
