CAN confirmed about Edwards attending the match -- being organized in tribute of the late Australian batsman Phillip Hughes, who tragically died after being hit by a delivery from Sean Abbott while playing for New South Wales (NSW) against South Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground in November 2014 -- by issuing a press release.
Hughes was playing when the accident occurred. Edward will be accompanied by NSW and Sydney Thunder player Ryan Carters-who have already confirmed his participation.
CAN release further read that former Australian U-19 captain and current ICC Head of Global Development Tim Anderson will also be attending the match while the announcement of other Australian players will be made shortly.
The match will be played for 63 overs -- with each team playing 31.3 overs each -- devised in respect to the Hughe's score in his final match.
The contesting teams will be combined cricketers from Cricket Australia and players from Nepal's national team.
Australian Ambassador to Nepal Glenn White will host a reception for players and other stakeholders prior to the match.
The Tribute Match will be followed by an expedition whereby one of Hughes' bats and playing jerseys will be taken to Mt Everest.
CAN release further read "CAN would like to thank the Hughes family for giving its blessing to the match, as well as Cricket Australia, the Australian Cricketer's Association and the Australian Embassy in Nepal for their cooperation."
