CPN (Unified) to form militant youth wing

BUTAWAL, May 16: Communist Party of Nepal (Unified) has decided to form youth squad for the security of party cadres and leaders.



The second national convention of the party´s youth wing held in Butawal decided to form the security squad "for the security of party activists and the people".



The convention formed a 17-member ad-hoc committee under with Udaya Rai as chairman to make necessary preparations for forming the squad.



Political parties have been forming militant youth squads to counter the activities of the Maoist Young Communist League. The CPN-UML has its Youth Force while most other parties have formed similar militant wings.



The convention has issued 14-point Butawal declaration demanding formation of new government on the basis of national consensus.
