KATHMANDU, Feb 25: CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madav Kumar Nepal has announced that his party will take part in the theoretical discussions on the US-funded Millenium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact agreement in parliament.
“In the discussion on MCC to be held in the House of Representatives today, the CPN (Unified Socialist) will have its own opinion on the project but will argue that it should not be approved without amendments,” Chairman Nepal said.

Similarly, Chairman Nepal said that the US government's grant assistance-MCC compact agreement should be forwarded keeping in mind the interest of the nation and the Nepali people.
Chairman Nepal mentioned issues being raised regarding MCC—land ownership of the project and the right of employment of the Nepalis in the project should be guaranteed.
"The right of Nepal on monetary property and heritages to be received from the project should be protected," he said, adding the project should be pure financial assistance.
Chairman Nepal clarified that his party could not pass the MCC compact in the status quo.
