Earlier, CPN (Unified), a party registered by Jeevan Rai had received the ‘pen’ election symbol.
The election symbol ‘pen’ is being kept by uniting the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified) led by Rai and the Socialist party led by Madhav Kumar Nepal. For that, the decision to make Rai a central member of the Unified Socialist has already been taken on Thursday.
Preparations are underway to issue a joint statement on the unification of the two parties before going to the Election Commission to change the election symbol.
CPN (Unified Socialist) had proposed an ‘open book’ as its election symbol when the party was registered at the EC.
