CPN-UML sets June 6 for demonstration against amendment bill

KATHMANDU, Jan 2:   CPN-UML is all set to hit the streets against the constitution amendment registered in Parliament.

A meeting held at the central party headquarters in Dhumbarahi on Monday decided to take to the streets against the constitution on January 6.

As many as nine political parties under the leadership of CPN-UML will stage demonstration with the main slogan, “National Unity against Anti-People Amendment, Sedition and Disintegration! Constitution Implementation and Holding Elections is Our Commitment!”

The meeting chaired by Party Secretary Pradip Gyawali today also reviewed the preparations made so far for the demonstration.

The meeting has also prepared slogans to be shouted during the demonstration and instructed other political allies to prepare banners accordingly.

The slogans include Scrap Constitution Amendment Bill and Declare Election Date!, Down with Disintegration, Live Long People’s Unity! among others.

CPN-UML has been upping the ante against the constitution amendment bill registered by the ruling parties in Parliament.
