TAMGHAS, Dec 10: A mass demonstration was held here today as part of the 11th day of the indefinite district-wide banda (general strike) to protest the constitution amendment bill the government registered in the parliament. 

The demonstrators had wielded sticks. The amendment proposal proposes to separate the Gulmi district from Province No 5 which has angered the locals. 

The banda has affected the normal life in the district.

The markets, industries and the transport services in the district are closed due to the shutdown which has made the life of the people difficult.

The District Struggle Committee has intensified its protest programs as the government was not heeding to their demands, the committee coordinator Bhuwan Prasad Shrestha said. RSS
