The party has urged the investors to fulfill the justified demands of the locals, citing that the different projects under-construction in the two districts had not invested the development expenditure in the project areas as promised to the project affected population. [break]
In a press release, the CPN-Maoist has urged the bhydroelectricity development projects in the districts to ensure the access of the locals to local resources as water, land, forest and minerals in line with the provision enshrined in the Interim Constitution.
Stating that the local people´s rights to resources were ensured by the Chilime Hydroelectricity Project in Rasuwa district through the efforts of the party, it warned the other projects also to fulfill the demands of the local people.
"We strongly call on the project investors and the administrations of the districts concerned to fulfill and have fulfilled the justified demands of the local people, failing which the project themselves would be responsible for any consequences thereof," reads the press release undersigned by the CPN-Maoist´s Nuwakot district in-charge Laxmi Mudhbhari, central member Anil Sharma Birahi and the party´s Rasuwa district secretary Bhim Bahadur Khadka.
