COVID-19 tally reaches 18,374 with 133 new cases in past 24 hours; 70.5 percent patients recover so far

KATHMANDU, July 24: Nepal has reported 133 new cases of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours.


According to Dr Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, the total number of COVID-19 infections in the country has reached 18,374 as of Friday afternoon.

Dr Gautam said a total 107 COVID-19 patients returned home on Friday after successful recovery taking the recovery tally to 12,947. Nepal has reported the recovery rate of 70.5 per cent.


Nepal also reported one more death due to COVID-19 infection on Friday. A 85-year-old female of Birgunj -11, Parsa who was undergoing treatment at the Narayani Hospital in Birgunj succumbed to this viral infection on Friday morning. She was a heart and pneumonia patient, according to the hospital administration.
