Country heading toward autocracy: Dahal

By No Author
KATHMANDU, May 26: Immediately after he met Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Wednesday said the country is moving toward autocracy.

Talking to local Newar community at a function at Kalimati, Dahal said he reached that conclusion after talking to the prime minister at a private house at Balkumari.

“I found republicanism, federalism and secularism are at risk,” said Dahal, while urging the Newar community to not let that happen. He also accused the government of conspiring with foreign powers to dissolve the Constituent Assembly (CA).

Dahal, however, argued that the peace process would remain intact even of the CA term is not extended by May 14.
