Cops arrest armed robbers

BHAKTAPUR, June 14: Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur, has busted an armed gang involved in robbery.



Five persons, who barged into the house of Bhai Ram Tamang of Sipadol-4 on June 6 and made off with six tolas of gold and Rs. 95,000 cash, were arrested, said Superintendent of Police Puspa Chandra Ranjit.



He said the arrestees are Nishan Tamang (18) of Sipadole-4, Sanu Babu Tamang (25) and Sam Raj Tamang of Kavrepalanchowk, Bhola Yadav (25) of Sarlahi and Paban Tamang (23). Two more members of the gang Sagar Tamang and Hira Tamang of Hetauda are on the run.



Police seized one home-made gun, two rounds of bullets, a magazine of Chinese piston and some stolen materials from them.



Similarly, police also arrested two members of the gang who struck the shop of Rabin Gosai at Bhaktapur Municipality-2 on May 26. The robbers had stolen three generator sets, electricity cable weighing 12 kg, one UTL phone set and six sound boxes.



The arrested were identified as Ram Bahadur Rana Magar (18) of Sindhuli, Ram BK (28) of Ramechhap. Police said one more member of the gang is on the run
