Police Sub Inspector Balaram Adhikari, who hails from Lahachowk, Kaski, committed suicide by firing a shot in the head with his own pistol at around 9: 25 am, police said. He died on the spot. [break]
The motive behind the suicide is unknown. His body has been sent to the hospital for autopsy.
Adhikari had just one year before retiring from the service. He is survived by wife and two sons.
