Cop killed in accident

SINDHUPALCHOWK, Oct 8: A sub inspector was killed on Friday after a passenger bus (Ba 2 Kh 6288) hit the motorcycle (Ba 14 Pa 6546) he was riding on from behind along the Khadichaur-Jiri road at Thupakhar-3 at 3 PM.



Laxman Shrestha, a resident of Birendranagar-9, Chitwan was killed in the accident while his son and wife who were riding pillion have been injured.



Shrestha, who was critically injured, lost his life while being treated at Sindhu Sadabahar Community Hospital, the police said. His wife, Kalpana and son Kalash, who were injured in the incident, have bee sent to Kathmandu for treatment.



The family who were returning to the capital after visiting Bhimeshwar temple in Dolakha, the police said.



Meanwhile, a man whose identity has yet to ascertained has been killed by an unidentified vehicle at Bhandara in Chitwan on Friday morning.



According to District Police Office, Chitwan, police had found the man of around 35 years of age unconscious on the roadside and he died while being rushed to Bharatpur for treatment. The body has been kept at a Bharatpur hospital.
