The deceased has been identified as junior police officer Bangi Rana. An unidentified looter also died in the crossfire. [break]
The police force had been patrolling the area as robberies had taken place there four days ago.
One police constable Prem Chand and a local Shree Ram Dongle were seriously injured in the clash. Both the injured persons are being treated at Seti Zonal Hospital.
Following the clash police also confiscated three motorcycles belonging to the robbers.
