KATHMANDU, Dec 12:  There has been heavy traffic jams around Gwarko Chowk in Lalitpur due to the construction of a flyover in the area.

In order to ease the traffic jam, passengers, cargo vehicles and two-wheelers going to Balkhu from Balkumari Bridge have been diverted to the service lane and private four-wheelers to the fast track, according to the Valley Traffic Police.

Police and traffic police are requesting motorists to drive from Koteshwar on designated road lanes to facilitate road traffic. Due to traffic congestion in that area, there are traffic jams in places like Chapagaun Dobato, Satdobato and it takes time for people traveling by private and public vehicles to reach their destinations.

Similarly, due to the traffic jam on the Gwarko-Balkumari road section, the Koteshwar, Jadibuti and Lokantali area has also been affected and there have been regular traffic jams.
