Constitution Day being observed Wednesday

KATHMANDU, Sept 18: Nepali is observing the fourth Constitution Day by organizing various programs throughout the country on Wednesday. 

The constitution day main celebration committee headed by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is organizing a special ceremony at army pavilion, Tundikhel. The ceremony would be attended by President, Vice President, PM Oli, Chairman of National Assembly, Speaker, chiefs of constitutional bodies, ministers, leaders of various political parties, chiefs of security bodies, civil servants and others, said the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. 

In the special function, the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, Scout and various religious and social organizations will perform drills and stunts. Similarly, special pageants depicting ethnic costumes and cultures would be taken to the pavilion from Kathmandu and Lalitpur Metropolitan cities. 

The ceremony will also feature a special address by Chairman of the celebration main committee and PM Oli. 

Moreover, Nepal's diplomatic missions and consulates abroad are conducting illumination on Sept 18, 19 and 29 to mark the constitution day. 
The places out of the capital city are organizing morning rallies, sports, lectures, literary and cultural programmes, and pageants for three days. 

A 33-member main celebration committee was formed under the chairmanship of PM Oli, while Communications Minister is to coordinate the publicity subcommittee.
