KATHMANDU, Aug 25: Chairman of the CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli, has said although constitution is a dynamic document, it is meaningless to amend it without implementing effectively.
Speaking at a press meet at Tribhuvan International Airport before his departure to Bangkok today, Chairman Oli said, "It is meaningless to amend constitution without setting the purpose.
My party has not been approached formally on amendment of constitution. But I've heard that some parties agreed to amend it."
He wondered how the present government would function while it has not been expanded to a full shape in a month of Prime Minister's election. The ruling parties seemed more serious towards party cadres than to the country, the former Prime Minister blamed.
Chairman Oli is leaving for health checkup at Bumrungrad Hospital of Bangkok. He is accompanied by spouse Radhika and personal secretary Rajesh Bajracharya.
He is scheduled to return home after 10 days. RSS
