BARDIBAS, Oct 14: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has said that political parties have no other alternative except for consensus.
Talking to party cadres at Gauridanda in Mahottari district, Prime Minister Bhattarai clarified that the government and his party has moved ahead adopting flexibility to this effort.[break]
PM Bhattarai, who is also the Vice-Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist, urged all to accept the flexibility adopted by his party for consensus even if opposition parties have blamed Chairman, Pushpa Kamal Dahal of changing stances, which was for promulgating the new constitution at the earliest.
He further said his party and the government has shown flexibility as consensus would not be forged if parties stick to their stances and added consensus would be forged at the earliest if other political parties show flexibility.
Before this, The Prime Minister inaugurated the Gaushala Multiple Bachelors College in Gaushala today itself and also visited a cow farm in the same place.
PM Bhattarai, who stayed whole night at Fulkaha-6-based Dalit settlement of Musahar communities Saturday as per his schedule of spending one night at rural settlements of the country every month, also interacted with parents of students at the premises of Aurahi-based higher secondary school.
I´ll resign on condition of promulgating democratic statute: PM
PM Bhattarai has said that he would not resign from his post till the guarantee of promulgating a new constitution.
PM Bhattarai, who spent a night at Dalit settlement in Fulkaha-6, Manarawa of Mahottari district on Saturday, made the remark while interacting with Musahar Dalit people on Sunday morning.[break]
He made it clear that he would not unseat till there was promulgation of a new constitution guaranteeing the rights of people who have been exploited and deprived of opportunities for a long.
´I would immediately resign from the post on condition that the political parties should forge consensus for the promulgation of a new constitution´, he added.
Meanwhile, PM inaugurated Gaushala Multiple Campus based in Gaushala this morning.
It is learnt that the Prime Minister held interaction with locals of Aurahi on the premises of Aurahi higher secondary level today.
Prime Minister is scheduled to return Kathmandu this afternoon.
