A group led by inebriated Congress cadre Rup Bahadur Gurung roughed up Maoist cadres including Suk Bahadur Nepali, Dhan Bahadur Nepali and Ram Bahadur Basel, according to Maoist local leader Ram Dahal.
However, NC Gorkha District Secretary Sukdev Dawadi said there was merely verbal altercation between NC and Maoist cadres.
Meanwhile, Maoist District Secretary Chudamani Khadka commented that it was a planned assault to instigate Maoist cadres at a time when the entire country has moved towards peace process.
