Conflict survivors register 16 complaints in Dang

TULSIPUR, April 20: The Truth and Reconciliation Commission TRC) and Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons (CIEDP) have so far received 16 complaints through Local Peace Committee in Dang.

The complaints were lodged after the TRC and CIED came up with the decision to collect complaints from conflict survivors so as to investigate into the incidents of serious human rights violation occurred during the conflict era of Nepal.


According to Secreatry of Local Peace Committee, Dang, Hemraj Adhikari, some 16 complaints were registered as of Tuesday. The complaint collection that began from April 14 will conclude on June 16.

The victims of the incidents such as rape, abduction, murder, house damage, displacement, injury, mutilation, robbery/loot and torture can file their complaints at the commissions.

The Local Peace Committee has the data of total 4,239 conflict survivors in Dang.

Surprisingly, there is no complaint registered in Rolpa – the origin of the armed conflict – till Tuesday, according to the Local Peace Committee Rolpa. RSS
