9000 quake survivors register complaints

DAMAULI, June 29: A total of 8,892 quake survivors often local level governments in the district have registered complaints at the National Reconstruction Authority. They have complained of not being enlisted as beneficiaries of the support provided by the state to the quake survivors. Of them, the NRA has completed a reexamination of 4,468 households.


A total of 53 technicians have been mobilized for survey work to validate the claims by the complainants, according to chief of the District Project Implementation Unit Jaya Prakash Gupta. Likewise, a survey operation district committee has been formed under the leadership of the Chief of the District Coordination Committee in order to help with the re-survey work in the district.

Of the 13,821 beneficiaries identified in the district, 13,337 have signed the housing grant agreement for private houses with the NRA.


Of them, 12,881 have received their first installment, 7,524 the second installment and 4,044 the third installment. Likewise, in the retroffiting category, 466 beneficiaries were identified. Of them, 271 have taken their first installment of financial support, added Gupta.
