KATHMANDU, July 27: A complaint has been filed against Durga Prasai, the executive director of the Jhapa-based B&C Medical College, demanding that Prasai be booked as per the law for his irresponsible statement against Nepali female students studying medical science in Bangladesh.

Speaking at a press conference regarding Dr KC’s demands, Prasai had stated that Nepali female medical students are sexually exploited by Bangladeshi professors. In the complaint, the trio has accused Prasai of the character assassination of the entire Nepali female population. They have demanded that the government act according to the Public Crime and Punishment Act 2017 and Prasai be punished for his crime.

According to the Libel and Slander Act 2016, the three have also demanded that Prasai be imprisoned for his action.  Law minister Sher Bahadur Tamang had made similar comments earlier and  it cost him his job. He resigned Tuesday.
