KATHMANDU, May 30: Imago-Dei Café and Gallery, Nagpokhari, is garnered with the painting exhibition entitled ‘Birds of Nepal’ since Sunday. This is the first solo exhibition of Artist Akshara Singh. She is a student in Lincoln School and has been learning arts since the past four years.
The exhibition flaunts 21 of her current paintings which have been presented using the acrylic medium. Meanwhile, her background comprises vibrant strokes that blend with her motif.

One of her paintings showcases a kingfisher in the center of the canvas alongside a long wooden pole. She has used shades of dark blue and white in the background that portrays a stormy day.
When asked what art meant to her and the reason she painted birds, Akshara answered, “Art is a way to convey creativity and meaning. It is interesting to create birds as there are many species of birds and I feel comfortable while painting birds.”
For her next exhibition, she is working more on the cultural heritage of Nepal. Speaking about the exhibition, Singh’s mother Jyotsana Singh expressed, “I am very happy for her. And she has worked hard for the exhibition. Art has helped her to
concentrate. ”
50 percent of the proceeds from the sale of her paintings will go to Nepal Adarsha Secondary School, Ganabahal. The exhibition continues till Thursday.
