KATHMANDU, June 20: Chief of Army Staff, Purna Chandra Thapa, who is currently on an official visit to China, paid a courtesy call on member of the Central Military Commission of China, Li Zuocheng, at the headquarters of People's Liberation Army (PLA) in Beijing on Wednesday.
On the occasion, a protocol of an agreement was signed, as per which, the Chinese PLA would provide Nepal heavy mechanical bridge, explosive ordinance disposal equipment and rescue kits worth 150 million Yuan under the humanitarian assistance and disaster management, according to Nepal Army.

CoAS Thapa also inspected the military structures of the PLA and visited various tourist destinations including Great Wall in Beijing.
Thapa had left for China at the invitation of the PLA. He is scheduled to conclude the weeklong visit on June 22.
