“The prolonged political transition has affected industrial and economic activities in the country and the government should seriously think of restoring normalcy,” CNI President Narendra Kumar Basnet told the head of the government during the meeting.

Although the interim government´s main task is to hold free and fair election, it should not disregard private sector and issues like economic development, promotion of industrial sector and investment expansion, CNI Vice President Hari Bhakta Sharma said.

“The government has received a crucial and historical task of holding free and fair elections. It should not let people down,” CNI President Emeritus Binod Chaudhary said. “The government should also take this opportunity to address issues related to drafting of various laws that was stalled.”

In response, Regmi said the government would immediately address issues that have created roadblocks for business and investment promotion. “I will personally get involved in this task,” he said.

Stating he was ready to work together with the private sector, he said trade unions should also participate in the task of improving industrial relation.
