KATHMANDU, Dec 7: Karnali Province Chief Minister (CM) Jeevan Bahadur Shahi has announced his candidacy for the post of Nepali Congress (NC) joint general secretary in its upcoming 14th General Convention, which is set to start from December 10 in Kathmandu. Shahi, who is also a central member of NC, has decided to file his candidacy under the backward constituency quota for the election.

Chief Personal Secretary Raj Rokaya of CM Shahi said that Shahi will be registering his nomination for the post of joint general secretary as he has become the party's central member three times and has performed well in the interest of NC. Shahi, who was elected the CM of Karnali Province representing Humla at the provincial assembly, has already held the post of Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation and Ministry of Drinking Water.
