CM Cleanup Campaign kicks off in Province 2

BIRGUNJ, Jan 29: Province 2 kicked off the Chief Minister (CM) Cleanup Campaign during an official event held in Birgunj on Monday. 

CM of Province 2 Lalbabu Raut announced the start of the CM Cleanup Campaign which is a part of the 'Clean Madhes, Prosperous Province' program of the provincial government. 

At the program organized at Ghantaghar Chowk of Birgunj, CM Raut emphasized the importance of cleanliness since the province lags behind in the human development index. 

“We are imagining a prosperousa and progressive province. For this, it is imperative to keep our homes, neighborhood, villages, and cities clean and beautiful,” he said, adding, “Since our priority is health and cleanliness, we have tried accommodate everyone in this program.” 

Raut claimed that it is necessary to begin with keeping our homes and villages clean. He called for a positive response from the citizens in aiding the provincial government to make the program a success. He took part in the cleanliness rally that started from Ghantaghar to Chapakaiya via Maisthan, Adarshanagar, and Birta, cleaning the roads on the way. Security personnel from Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepalese Army and students from various schools took part in the rally.

Addressing the inauguration, CM Raut said that the provincial government is also preparing to come up with campaigns to educate daughter in order to safeguard the future of the girls of the province. According to him, President Bidya Devi Bhandari is set to inaugurate the proposed campaigns on February 17 in Birgunj.

According to the coordinator of the CM Cleanliness Campaign, Salauddin Ahamad, the program will be implemented in all eight districts of the province. The inauguration was attended by members of the Province Assembly Prahlad Giri, Jannat Ansari, Bhima Yadav, Sinhasan Sah Kalawar; mayor of Birgunj sub-metropolis, Bijaya Sarawagi; chief district officer of Parsa, Narayan Bhattarai, among other notable personalities. All of them took part in the road cleaning activity during the rally.
