Cloud 9: Up on the stairs of cuisine experience

The word “Cloud 9” has been ever popular with songs from George Harrison to The Temptations and Bryan Adams. “Cloud 9” has been interpreted in different ways. For Kathmandu, Cloud 9 comes up as an eatery for one of the finest dining experiences you can have in town.[break]

Located centrally in Hattisar, just a step ahead from Jai Nepal Cinema Hall, Cloud 9 serves you a variety of cuisines from the tastes of India, China, Europe and our very own Nepal.

Thanks to all the town buddies who have been joining hands to serve us the best cuisines in town in recent times, Cloud 9 is also a joint venture of four great buddies – Surendra Prasad Koirala, Manoj Khadgi, Sumit Krishna Sahi and Sujan Malakar.

Set in a three-storey building, Cloud 9 has creatively separated different menus for each floor with respective themes. For those corporate honchos, bankers and other professionals who have been hit hard by the hours of load-shedding everyday, Cloud 9 definitely is the right place to be at as the eatery provides you with a conference room with 30+ seating capacity to have your meetings while you can also keep yourself indulged in scrumptious delicacies and exotic cocktails and mocktails.

Most of the times you’re disappointed because you want to go out for a family dinner to celebrate your weekend and you don’t get a table that fits your family members. All your worries end here as the very first floor of Cloud 9 offers you a cozy room in a neo-classic décor that can take in 10+ members from your family or friends to dine and wine the night away.

It’s alright to crave for some awesome sandwiches with extra topping of your favorite cheese, or some grilled sausages with bacon and ham early in the morning. But it’s disheartening when you can’t find the right place to satisfy your hunger at seven in the morning. If this is what you’ve been feeling so far, you no more have to worry. You can actually have them all at once as Cloud 9 is one of those rare restaurants in town that opens at 7 o’clock in the morning and shuts down the shutter at 11:30 pm.

For those who just love their solitude with the company of best-brewed coffees, Cloud 9 leaves you to enjoy your lonesome time at its Coffee Shop on the second floor and your evening definitely deserves to be by a fireside on the terrace where the bar is conveniently located. And the third floor is all about a sea of cuisines from different geography.

Coming to your never-satisfied taste buds, it’s a never-ending food ride at Cloud 9 because the spices of cinnamon, cumin, timbur and garam masala never seem to leave your craving for food. Master Chef Bal Kumar Raot is a master in his job and his mastery in cooking ensures that you’ll definitely come back for more.

It’s at Cloud 9 where a simple yet popular dish like momo tastes like  you never tasted before. It’s certainly an awesome feeling to feel the minced meat of momo dissolve in your mouth, without having you to take your time on chewing much.

To miss Cloud 9 Special Meat Platter is literally to commit a sin. It’s not only a slice of chicken breast on the platter; it’s mixed meat, sausages, mutton kebabs, chicken barbeque, fish, prawn, fries and dried fruits that come along within your pocket’s affordability. A simple Nepali Khaja set with beaten rice, spicy potatoes, marinated buff slices and boiled egg is just too perfect for a working lunchhour. And an authentic Chicken Katti Kebab roll leaves your tongue with that unique Katti Roll’s taste you get in Kolkata. And to sip it off this weekend, you must go for Blue Sea mocktail and Rainbow Cocktail.

Hence forget about all those expensive eateries in and around the town. It’s just 1,500 rupees you need for two to experience a never-ending dining experience.
