Clothing and fire crackers confiscated

MAHOTTARI, Oct 7: Clothing and fire crackers worth Rs. 200,000 were confiscated by police, as they were being smuggled into the country from neighboring India.

MAHOTTARI, Oct 7: Clothing and fire crackers worth Rs. 200,000 were confiscated by police, as they were being smuggled into the country from neighboring India. 


Stringent vigilance in the border points considering the upcoming festivals led to the confiscation, according to DSP at the District Police Office Khagendra Bahadur Khadka said. The confiscation was made from Ekadara rural municipality, Sonama rural municipality and Jaleswar municipality customs check points.

The clothing comprised saree, kurta suruwal and pants, brought to the country by evading tax. The confiscated goods have been handed over to the District Customs Office, Mahottari while the fire crackers will be destroyed, DSP Khadka said.
