KATHMANDU, Feb 12: With the onset of Valentine’s week, love is in the air. Young hearts seem to grow closer and warmer with the each passing day leading to Valentine’s Day, the day of love.  The Closeup Love Fest held on Saturday at Civil Mall, Sundhara seemed to be just the right event to express love and commitment to loved ones.

People might have found it hard to believe that they were entering into a shopping center at the day of the fest. The red heart shaped balloons hanging down the ceiling, ball pit full of heart shaped balloons, long lines at face painting and tarot card reading stalls, fun couples games and the live performances by Astha B, Nabin K Bhattarai and The Band, Deepak Bajracharya and Rhythm Band, Shiva Pariyar, Shine Band, Chintu and Old Monks, Sher Bahadur Gurung, Artha Band, DJ Jenny and Laure, made Civil mall seem like the ultimate love land.

One could see young couples holding hands with heart shaped painting on their faces and enjoying the live music. The red lights and the music filled environment intoxicated the audience with passion and desire in their heart. The hosts of the event Shrijal Rupakheti, Khusbu Pradhan and Shikshya Sangroula added extra spice in the air when they approached the audience to come to the stage and confess their love to their loved ones.

Out of 5,000 love messages which were collected through Facebook, SMS, FM, Gmail and love message board at Qfx from January 24- February 7, five lucky winners were awarded Samsung Galaxy Tab 8 for the best love message. Winners of other couple games were given Closeup goodie bags.

The audience sang along Shiva Pariyar when he sang his exclusive number which is set to release on February 14. ‘Ju Ju Na Na ‘by Deepak Bajracharya got everyone dancing and moving their feet.  When Laure entered the stage, the crowd went crazy and started chanting his name.

The final performance given by Ashish Rana ‘Laure’ was the highlight of the entire event where he dedicated his performance to the late Yama Buddha. The roaring crowd went silent and enjoyed the soothing music and parted their ways with love in their hearts and passion in their eyes.
