The study has been initiated at a time when locals have said that they are experiencing much rainfall but fast melting of snow, bad impact on apple farming and shrinking grasslands.

The study will assess the changes in Nilgiri mountain, Chemo lake and Dhumba lake. ACAP has said that four research centers have been established at four places at different heights in Nilgiri.

The ACAP chief of Mustang, Paras Bikram Singh, said the study has been initiated after noticeable changes were seen in Nilgiri (7080 m) in particular and Mustang in general.
