RUKUM, April 8: A school in the district is running its classes in the temporary sheds of the zinc sheet.
Kalika Primary chool of Mulijyuli of the Chaurjahari Municilaity-12, is operating the courses in the temporary sheds since days. The school currently has one four-room insubstantial building. The room has capacity of only 10 students. However, many students are compelled to attend the class in one small room.
To fulfil the requirement of the class room, the school management decided to make temporary sheds to continue the classes.
The school management has demanded the local education department for the two-room concrete building since two years, after the declaration of the Chaurjahari Municipality. However, the District Education Department is consistently ignoring the demand, accused the local source.

Established in 2006, the school has enrollment of 223 students. “The shortage of the proper physical infrastructure is hampering the regular operation of the classes”, said Principal Prem Bahadur Dangi. This has decrease in the enrollment of the students, he added.
“Time and again the classes are suspended in the extreme weather condition, which has hampered in our studies”, said Kamal Dangi, a student of class four.
“We cannot concentrate in our studies”, complained another student Ram Bahadur Oli.
This is the clear example of the manipulation of the budget due to the political instability, said the local student leader. “If the condition of the school in the municipality is like this then, we cannot imagine the schools of the rural areas”, he added.
Meanwhile, the District Education Department has claimed that the school is in the priority of the department.
“The school is suffering from acute shortage of basic infrastructure including the stationery and other physical infrastructures. This hurdle the learning process of the students”, said Principal Dangi.
