KHOTANG, August 8: A school at Kulabhanyjang of Badakadiyale area in Khotehang rural municipality – 4 is running regular classes under makeshift roof cover after failing to replace the roof blown away during a windstorm four months ago.

The Shivathan Primary School faced the nature's wrath on April 1. School Principal Prakash Funyal said the school administration has been using tent cover for a multiclass teaching method.

"It is the time of monsoon and the daily rainfall has created a big problem," the principal said, adding "As we do not have the economic source to repair the structure, we have been forced to continue classes under tents."

The school management committee said it received Rs 25,000 from the District Education Office (DEO), Khotang for repairing the damages incurred in the windstorm.

The school infrastructure also suffered damages during the massive earthquake of April 25, 2015. The school runs classes up to Grade V with a total enrollment of 62 students. RSS
