Police, protestors clash in Biratnagar; dozens of teargas canisters fired

BIRATNAGAR, March 28: A clash is taking place at Rote Chowk in Biratnagar between protestors and the police. The protestors are up in arms against the naming of Province 1 as Koshi Province.

Our Biratnagar-based correspondent Chuman Basnet said that the police have fired dozens of teargas shells to disperse the protestors.

The Koshi Province Re-nomination Joint Struggle Committee is holding protests and agitation programs in the province today.
