KATHMANDU, August 5: Janmat Party chief CK Raut will contest from Saptari-2 in the upcoming elections slated for November 20.
Raut, chairman of Janmat Party, is going to contest the election from Saptari-2, which was won by Upendra Yadav in 2074 BS election. Janmat Party central member BP Shah said that the party's central committee meeting held on Thursday decided that Raut would contest the election from Saptari-2.
CJ Raut faces challenges ahead to restore public trust
Raut is a resident of Mahadeva Rural Municipality-2 of Saptari. In his ward, Raut's party won all the seats including the ward chairman. Apart from this, the party had won in various other wards of the region.
Earlier, the Janmat Party had participated in the local elections for the first time. On March 8, 2019, a peaceful agreement was reached between Janmat Party and the government. The Oli-led government had signed an 11-point agreement with the party.
