KATHMANDU, Nov 15: Chief Justice Cholendra SJB Rana has assigned benches to hear all kinds of cases including habeas corpus.

CJ Rana has fixed ten benches to oversee the cases scheduled for today while he has assigned a single bench for himself. Though eight joint benches and two single benches have been fixed, the hearing of the case has not started yet.

The justices have been refusing to hear the cases after allegations were raised in the court that the chief justice was seeking his share in the expansion of the cabinet.

This is the reason why the Supreme Court has not been able to hear the case but in the meantime, hearings on habeas corpus have been taking place. Chief Justice Rana said that he has been given the responsibility as the Chief Justice by the constitution and law and he is capable of fulfilling it. He also urged the judges to fulfill their responsibilities as per the constitution and law.

The justice seekers, who are waiting for justice for years, are in a dilemma as there have been no hearings on cases.
